Who We Are
Katie MacDougall Bruce, M.Div., LPC
Owner, Revive Christian Counseling and Consulting
EMDR Trainer/Consultant
LPC Supervisor

I love what I do day in and day out. My job isn’t easy, but I am blown away that God allows me to join people in the midst of their most painful, tender situations.
I often wonder, “Why me?” If you’re reading this, you might actually be asking the same question. The primary answer to that question is that God has gifted me with encouragement and discernment. I have also had extensive, professional training that you can read more about later in this bio. Last, but not least, I have years of experience (both professionally and personally) walking through deep pain.
Between my gifting, training, and experience, I am great at helping individuals and couples move through their worst pain and most complex situations.
I also love helping new therapists with their supervision needs, and therapists trained in EMDR to grow in their skills through consultation.
Personalized Therapy
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, approved LPC Supervisor, and the owner of Revive Christian Counseling and Consulting. As I’ve sat in the counseling room with people over the years, I know that every person and experience is different. That is why it is incredibly important to me to provide therapy that is personalized to you.
I don’t believe in cookie-cutter therapy because I don’t believe that anything about you or your situation is cookie-cutter.
I’ve learned that pain is pain. I don’t believe that one person’s pain is greater than another person's pain. All I see is that someone is hurting and it is my responsibility to take that pain very seriously. I also really believe that the counselor-client relationship is hugely important to your success as a client. As a result, I value an equal mix of empathizing and challenging in my therapy sessions.
I want you to feel heard and understood, then I want to challenge you to really get to where you want to go.
Extensive Training
I hold a Master of Divinity with specialization in Counseling from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary as well as a Bachelor of Science from Oklahoma City University. I am an Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Certified Therapist and Approved Consultant, which is a research-based method to help those suffering from traumatic events. I am also a Flash-Trained Therapist, which is a technique specifically designed to help deeply traumatic memories less distressing to process.
I am also trained in Prepare-Enrich and SYMBIS, which are both tools used to help with relationship counseling. I have completed Level 1 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, a world-renowned and research-based tool to help couples assess and improve their relationships. In addition to these tools, Attachment Theory, Ego State Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Family Systems Therapy deeply inform my practice.
Outside of my therapy training, I am also an authorized Darkness to Light Childhood Sexual Abuse Prevention Facilitator as well as a facilitator with the EMDR Support Network.
I enjoy conducting trainings to help prevent some of the atrocities I see in my office on a regular basis. I especially enjoy helping churches prevent childhood sexual abuse using these trainings. I also very much enjoy training therapists in EMDR as an approved EMDR Trainer, so more therapists can use this valuable tool to help their clients. Similarly, I enjoy leading continuing education courses to help therapists grow and support clients better.
My Life Verse
When I’m out of the office, my goal is to be outside as much as possible. I love seeing and experiencing God’s creation through the outdoors. Some of my favorite things include: family, church, hot tea, dogs, ice cream, and spin class.
My life verse is Galatians 6:9 NIV
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
When I was sixteen, a Sunday School teacher shared that verse with me while I was feeling incredibly weary. Little did I know that life would continue to make me feel weary with numerous losses and disappointments down the road. That verse has represented Jesus holding onto me in seasons of long-suffering and I am so grateful to be able to see His hand in my life -- on the good days and the bad ones.
I would be honored to help you figure out what is keeping you from receiving that hope.

Jen Liston
Graduate Student Intern | Marriage & Family Therapy

Hi, I’m Jen, and I believe in the power of redemption and transformation in both lives and relationships. Therapy is a profound gift - one that has been deeply healing in my own life - and I am honored to help others experience that same healing.
Currently, I am pursuing my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Campbellsville University, where I am receiving specialized training to support individuals, couples, and families. I am being trained in Eye Movement Desensitization (EMDR). I also use SYMBIS for pre-marital counseling. My approach to therapy is collaborative, providing a safe and compassionate space where emotions can be explored, challenges can be navigated, and growth can take root.
I take a holistic perspective, integrating emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual well-being into the healing process. I am excited to work with anyone and everyone, wherever you might be in your life story currently! Specifically, I really love working with young adults, women, and couples preparing for marriage, addressing concerns such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, life transitions, grief, and relationship challenges.
No matter where you are on your journey, my goal is to offer a calm, supportive environment where you can process life’s complexities and biggest emotions, and take meaningful steps toward positive change. I would be honored to walk alongside you.

Our Mission
“Our mission is to help people receive hope and freedom by utilizing professional counseling tools from a Christian perspective and training more therapists to do the same.”
Our Core Values
Excellence | Integrity | Kindness | Accountability | Faith
We’re Revive Christian Counseling and Consulting and our counselors have been helping people heal from depression, anxiety, and trauma here in Oklahoma City since 2017.
We believe in creating a safe place for all people with counselors that we would see ourselves. We are experts in trauma counseling and consulting/training, and love incorporating Christian faith when a client desires to do so.
We love seeing people reach their goals, and we deeply desire to do that with excellence, integrity, kindness, and accountability.
We seek to treat each person with compassion, and we refuse to take shortcuts when it comes to caring for or training people. Our owner, Katie, decided to start this business because saw an enormous need for therapists and no place to send people that need counseling when they called.
Knowing she couldn’t help everyone by herself, she decided a business with the combination of amazing counseling and great consultation/training would help more people.
We are looking forward to adding more consultation groups/launching some new trainings and continuing education for therapists, and expanding services offered/partnering with other experts for therapy clients.
The Following Bible Verse Explains the Core of What We Do:
“Won’t you revive us again, so your people can rejoice in you?” Psalm 85:6 ESV"
The Hebrew word “revive” is a word that means to regain or restore life. For our clients, we know that most of them are seeking help at a time where their lives feel stolen and death feels like it prevails. We want to come alongside our clients and help them experience revival, life, and rejoicing.
Using this verse as the basis of our practice, we strive to do the following:
*If you are not a person of faith, that’s okay too. We want to be upfront about what we believe, but our practice is not just for believers."

Katie MacDougall is incredibly well spoken and does a fantastic job of making the client comfortable. I feel that there is a genuine concern and compassion, which is, quite honestly, fairly difficult to find. Revive would definitely be recommended by myself.
