Revive Associates
Katie MacDougall Bruce, M.Div., LPC
Owner, Revive Christian Counseling and Consulting
EMDR Trainer/Consultant
LPC Supervisor

I love what I do day in and day out. My job isn’t easy, but I am blown away that God allows me to join people in the midst of their most painful, tender situations.
I often wonder, “Why me?” If you’re reading this, you might actually be asking the same question. The primary answer to that question is that God has gifted me with encouragement and discernment. I have also had extensive, professional training that you can read more about later in this bio. Last, but not least, I have years of experience (both professionally and personally) walking through deep pain.
Between my gifting, training, and experience, I am great at helping individuals and couples move through their worst pain and most complex situations.
I also love helping new therapists with their supervision needs, and therapists trained in EMDR to grow in their skills through consultation.
Personalized Therapy
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, approved LPC Supervisor, and the owner of Revive Christian Counseling and Consulting. As I’ve sat in the counseling room with people over the years, I know that every person and experience is different. That is why it is incredibly important to me to provide therapy that is personalized to you.
I don’t believe in cookie-cutter therapy because I don’t believe that anything about you or your situation is cookie-cutter.
I’ve learned that pain is pain. I don’t believe that one person’s pain is greater than another person's pain. All I see is that someone is hurting and it is my responsibility to take that pain very seriously. I also really believe that the counselor-client relationship is hugely important to your success as a client. As a result, I value an equal mix of empathizing and challenging in my therapy sessions.
I want you to feel heard and understood, then I want to challenge you to really get to where you want to go.
Extensive Training
I hold a Master of Divinity with specialization in Counseling from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary as well as a Bachelor of Science from Oklahoma City University. I am an Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Certified Therapist and Approved Consultant, which is a research-based method to help those suffering from traumatic events. I am also a Flash-Trained Therapist, which is a technique specifically designed to help deeply traumatic memories less distressing to process.
I am also trained in Prepare-Enrich and SYMBIS, which are both tools used to help with relationship counseling. I have completed Level 1 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, a world-renowned and research-based tool to help couples assess and improve their relationships. In addition to these tools, Attachment Theory, Ego State Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Family Systems Therapy deeply inform my practice.
Outside of my therapy training, I am also an authorized Darkness to Light Childhood Sexual Abuse Prevention Facilitator as well as a facilitator with the EMDR Support Network.
I enjoy conducting trainings to help prevent some of the atrocities I see in my office on a regular basis. I especially enjoy helping churches prevent childhood sexual abuse using these trainings. I also very much enjoy training therapists in EMDR as an approved EMDR Trainer, so more therapists can use this valuable tool to help their clients. Similarly, I enjoy leading continuing education courses to help therapists grow and support clients better.
My Life Verse
When I’m out of the office, my goal is to be outside as much as possible. I love seeing and experiencing God’s creation through the outdoors. Some of my favorite things include: family, church, hot tea, dogs, ice cream, and spin class.
My life verse is Galatians 6:9 NIV
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
When I was sixteen, a Sunday School teacher shared that verse with me while I was feeling incredibly weary. Little did I know that life would continue to make me feel weary with numerous losses and disappointments down the road. That verse has represented Jesus holding onto me in seasons of long-suffering and I am so grateful to be able to see His hand in my life -- on the good days and the bad ones.
I would be honored to help you figure out what is keeping you from receiving that hope.

Claire Myers M.S., CCC-SLP
Owner, Say So Speech LLC
Speech-Language Pathologist
Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist

I genuinely love work. I’m deeply passionate about what I do and I find no greater joy than seeing my patients improve. I love a challenge, I really enjoy learning, and I am always looking for ways to improve.
I formed Say So Speech in 2024 to help reach a broader scope of clients, utilize my faith in therapy as desired, and provide more specialized services for those desiring more. The name Say So Speech is rooted in Psalm 107:2, “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,” reflecting my belief in helping individuals find and use their voice in ways that are authentic, effective, and empowering.
I strive to create a supportive, engaging, and clinically sound therapeutic environment where children and families feel respected, understood, and encouraged.
In my spare time, I enjoy crocheting, baking, watching WWII documentaries, and spending time with my tripod Border Collie rescue, Odie.
Advanced Training and Education
I am a licensed Speech Language Pathologist with over 10 years of experience providing school-based and clinical speech-language services to pediatric populations. I am committed to delivering evidence-based, individualized care that supports each child’s communication development, functional independence, and overall quality of life, in accordance with the ethical standards set forth by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
I have specialized experience working with autistic children, including those who are minimally speaking or non-speaking. I use a neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based approach that respects each child’s unique communication profile while promoting access to functional, meaningful communication across settings. My work frequently incorporates augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), play-based intervention, and social-pragmatic supports to enhance engagement and participation.
Quality, Individualized Care
My clinical areas of expertise include receptive and expressive language, pragmatic (social) language, articulation and phonological disorders, fluency, cognitive-linguistic skills, and speech and language delays. I also provide comprehensive evaluations and offer consultation on IEP development and review, ensuring that services and goals are appropriate, measurable, and aligned with each child’s individual needs. I am also trained in Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Approach to feeding, which means I help picky and problem eaters.
I am passionate about leading social skills groups and equipping children with the tools needed to build meaningful relationships and navigate social environments. I place a strong emphasis on caregiver collaboration and education, empowering parents with practical, evidence-based strategies to support communication development in daily routines. I also periodically run speech camp. Group therapy is a great way to help kids thrive in social groups, learn from each other, and provide the most affordable form of therapy. Reach out today if you’re interested in getting on the next list for speech camp, individual services, or any sort of training needs.

Kris Newlin, LPC, ATR-BC, ATCS
Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Board-Certified Art Therapist, LPC Supervisor and Art Therapy Credentialed Supervisor

One of my favorite bible verses that inspires my work as a counselor is Ephesians 2:10
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.” To me this verse captures God as the ultimate artist and that each of us, you and me, are His masterpiece.
Creative, Personalized Therapy
It is my belief that we are all inherently creative, made in the image of Our Creator. I consider creativity to be a form of communication and specifically art therapy to be a form of self-expression that can translate struggles into stories. Everyone has creativity inside them ready to be realized, stories looking for an opportunity to be heard, and experiences to be shared. It is my honor to walk alongside others on their journey and help guide them on the path to where they want to be.
Extensive Experience
I have worked in the mental health field for nearly 30 years. My career has allowed me to meet people where they are at: school for children experiencing homelessness, home for women who were trafficked, hospital for adults struggling with eating disorders, and adolescent boys in a residential facility. These experiences helped me hone my therapeutic skills over the years addressing healing as an integration of the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. I incorporate a client centered approach to counseling utilizing insight oriented, cognitive behavioral, trauma informed and internal family systems approaches. I enjoy working with all ages and stages of life. Individual, marital therapy, and family sessions are available and art therapy can be explored in any session at the client’s request.
My office is a safe space and a brave space; my intention is for you to feel safe enough to be vulnerable and brave enough to process your feelings and experiences.
I taught undergraduate and graduate art therapy and creative therapies courses at the University of Oklahoma for 16 years. In 2021, I completed Salt and Light Leadership Training to help leaders ignite hope and facilitate positive change in their field of practice. My heart for teaching shows up in my sessions at times, sharing resources and providing education to help my clients grow.
Kayak and Create Excursions
In addition to traditional talk therapy and art therapy, I offer eco-art therapy experientials through Kayak and Create excursions. This is an evidence based therapeutic approach centered around connecting with nature and responding with intention through guided art journaling. Spending time in nature and engaging in creative practices are grounding in a way that lessens feelings of anxiety, isolation, and depression. Incorporating the benefits of being in nature, engaging in movement, accessing breathing and calming strategies, and processing the experience through therapeutic creative journaling is a unique experience promoting mind, body, spirit health and wellness. Kayak and all necessary gear provided; excursions take place on the Oklahoma River near Lake Overholser.

Our Mission
“Our mission is to help people receive hope and freedom by utilizing professional counseling tools from a Christian perspective and training more therapists to do the same.”
Our Core Values
Excellence | Integrity | Kindness | Accountability | Faith
We’re Revive Christian Counseling and Consulting and our counselors have been helping people heal from depression, anxiety, and trauma here in Oklahoma City since 2017.
We believe in creating a safe place for all people with counselors that we would see ourselves. We are experts in trauma counseling and consulting/training, and love incorporating Christian faith when a client desires to do so.
We love seeing people reach their goals, and we deeply desire to do that with excellence, integrity, kindness, and accountability.
We seek to treat each person with compassion, and we refuse to take shortcuts when it comes to caring for or training people. Our owner, Katie, decided to start this business because saw an enormous need for therapists and no place to send people that need counseling when they called.
Knowing she couldn’t help everyone by herself, she decided a business with the combination of amazing counseling and great consultation/training would help more people.
We are looking forward to adding more consultation groups/launching some new trainings and continuing education for therapists, and expanding services offered/partnering with other experts for therapy clients.
The Following Bible Verse Explains the Core of What We Do:
“Won’t you revive us again, so your people can rejoice in you?” Psalm 85:6 ESV"
The Hebrew word “revive” is a word that means to regain or restore life. For our clients, we know that most of them are seeking help at a time where their lives feel stolen and death feels like it prevails. We want to come alongside our clients and help them experience revival, life, and rejoicing.
Using this verse as the basis of our practice, we strive to do the following:
*If you are not a person of faith, that’s okay too. We want to be upfront about what we believe, but our practice is not just for believers."

Katie MacDougall is incredibly well spoken and does a fantastic job of making the client comfortable. I feel that there is a genuine concern and compassion, which is, quite honestly, fairly difficult to find. Revive would definitely be recommended by myself.
